Question 4
How did you use the new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Screen cast of using photoshop
Photoshop was very important in our A2 coursework as we needed to use photoshop to create our poster and magazine. Photoshop was the best technology to use to make the poster and magazine because it done exactly what we needed it to. Using photoshop made our poster and magazine look more realistic. At first using photoshop was really confusing as no one in our group had used it before so it took quite a while for use to understand how it works and once we figured out the basics for photoshop we were then able to create our poster and magazine.
Youtube
Youtube was essential for our coursework because this is where we got all off our ideas from by watching other horror trailers, the reason youtube is good to watch trailer is because people can leave comments and youtube also shows how many people have watched the trailer and how many people gave it a thumbs up or a thumbs down. We also found sound for our trailer on youtube which made youtube really helpful to our group. Once again, due to YouTube's convenience we could take sound and use it in our A2 trailer straight away.
Final Cut Pro
Final cut pro was the most important technology we used through the whole off our media A level, we used it to create our trailer and other videos such as audience interviews, blood workshop and some of our evaluation questions. final cut pro at first is quite difficult to use but because we used it last year to create our open title sequence we had a better understanding of using it this year to make our trailer and we are practically pros at using final cut now. As a group we think that final cut is the best technology you can use to edit videos and trailer as it's not to complicated to use and is really straight forward. Once we had made a video on Final Cut we were able to upload it straight to youtube on the final cut software without having to first export the video then re-upload it to youtube. it was just one button that we had to press to put our video on to youtube.
